Washington, D.C. native, Jason Berrent is an American actor and performer, best known for his work with the world-renowned Cirque du Soleil.

As a decorated athlete and former U.S. National Team member, Jason captured the 2002 U.S. National Championships and the 2003 Canada Cup in Tumbling.

After a full career in competitive sport, his talents led him to Cirque du Soleil. He joined Cirque's signature tour, Alegría in 2003. He took the stage in more than 1,000 performances playing several major venues in New York, Tokyo and London's Royal Albert Hall. Jason was invited to work with writer and director, David Shiner, to create the lead role of The Trickster for Cirque du Soleil's new spectacle, Koozå. Jason used his training in acting, movement and acrobatics to originate the role that premiered in April 2007. The character quickly became a Cirque favorite. Jason received stellar reviews for his performance and can be seen on the live DVD recording of the show.

His passion for acting has led to other stage appearances including; Nicky Silver's Fit To Be Tied (Meta Theatre, Los Angeles) and The Cohen Project (San Francisco). You can also spot Jason on screen in Disney's Princess & The Frog, Evolution, Spots and Sy Smith's music video Spies. Jason has appeared in commercials and print for Adidas Originals, The Sundance Channel, Beatles Rockband, xBox Dance Central, Be Good To Johnny Weir and Infiniti Motors.

Jason also co-owns Zehner/Berrent Productions with director Joshua Ryan Zehner. Together they have produced and directed original works including collaborations with Cirque du Soleil, Cirque Berzerk, Disney, Second City, Circus Circus Las Vegas and David Letterman.  Jason's choreography has opened the Choreographer's Ball in both New York and Los Angeles, and he continues to teach dance and movement around the the world.
